"summary": "President Donald Trump announced on Friday that Russia has agreed to supply over 300,000 tons of diesel to the US and global market, with the aim of reducing fuel prices before the November midterm elections. This move comes as diesel prices near record highs, affecting various sectors such as agriculture, heating, and trucking. Trump emphasized that the lower prices would benefit farmers, ranchers, and truckers, citing them as his top priority. The US has imposed sanctions on Russia's energy companies due to its war on Ukraine, allowing the importation of Russian diesel until April 7, 2023. Additionally, the Treasury Department issued a general license for this importation. Trump also mentioned that Russia will supply another 500,000 tons in November and 1,000,000 tons immediately after that, contingent on the condition of Russia's damaged diesel refineries from the war. The unusual move aims to address the global fuel supply crunch caused by the Iran-Ukraine wars, which have pushed US diesel prices to $6.28 per gallon.",
