"summary": "US President Donald Trump announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to supply diesel fuel to the US and global markets. According to Trump, Russia will immediately supply over 300,000 tons of diesel, with another 500,000 tons expected in November and 1,000,000 tons \"immediately thereafter\".\n\nThe agreement was made during a phone call between Trump and Putin, which Trump described as \"highly successful\". Kirill Dmitriev, an envoy for Putin, praised the cooperation between Russia and the US on diesel and energy.\n\nThe move comes as diesel prices are near record highs, and the US has imposed sanctions on Russia's energy companies over its war on Ukraine. The Treasury Department has issued a general license allowing the importation of Russian diesel until April 7 next year, according to Investing.com and Business Recorder.\n\nUS, Ukrainian and European officials are set to hold talks in Miami in a fresh diplomatic effort to end Russia's war in Ukraine, Le Monde English reported.",
