"account": "Mike Ditka, a legendary former NFL player and coach, passed away at the age of 86 on October 9, according to a statement released by his family. Known for his career with the Chicago Bears, including leading them to a Super Bowl XX victory, Ditka was also celebrated as a husband, father, grandfather, and cherished friend. The family mourned his loss, noting that while the world remembered him as a football star and coach, they knew him as the heart of their family. He had previously experienced health issues, including heart attacks in 1988 and 2018, and a minor stroke in 2012.\n\nDitka's illustrious career spanned over a decade in the NFL, starting with the Chicago Bears from 1961 to 1966, where he played a pivotal role in their championship team in 1963. He then moved to the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys, adding another Super Bowl ring with the Cowboys in 1972. After his retirement from playing in 1973, Ditka embarked on a coaching career, serving as an assistant to the Dallas Cowboys from 1974 to 1981, during which he helped them win another Super Bowl. He then became the head coach of the Chicago Bears in 1982, leading them to another Super Bowl triumph in 1986. However, he was fired from the Bears in 1993 and later moved on to coach the New Orleans Saints from 1997 to 2000, where he managed three losing seasons before his dismissal. His final years were spent as a commentator for ESPN and CBS Sports. Mike Ditka is survived by his second wife, Diane, whom he had married in 1977, along with four children from his first marriage.",
