"summary": "The Bauchi State Police have arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly vandalising a transformer belonging to the Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC) in Bogoro Local Government Area. According to the Daily Post Nigeria, the suspect, Monday Dauda, was arrested at about 12:30 am on October 8, 2026, by police operatives during a routine patrol.\n\nThe police said they spotted suspicious movements around the transformer, located within the premises of Bogoro General Hospital, and discovered that the suspect had removed the transformer’s armoured cable and attached it to a motorcycle, allegedly preparing to steal it. The armoured cable and motorcycle were taken as exhibits.\n\nThe suspect reportedly confessed to the crime during interrogation. The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, commended the operatives for their vigilance and professionalism, and directed that the suspect and exhibits be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Bauchi for further investigation and prosecution, as stated by the police spokesman, SP Nafiu Habib.",
