"account": "Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has denounced the ongoing strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) as baseless and political. After a meeting with area council chairmen in Abuja on Friday, Wike directed them to enforce a \"no-work, no-pay\" policy on participating workers. He emphasized that all legitimate demands, such as promotions and operational matters, had already been addressed or are in progress. Wike categorically stated that the strike declaration was politically motivated and would not be tolerated. He challenged the neutrality of the NLC leadership, alleging that the union's chairperson is a former ADC candidate in the last FCT area council elections, using this to politically disadvantage the Federal Capital Territory. The National Labour Congress had earlier directed workers in the FCT Administration and the private sector to commence an indefinite strike over unresolved issues, including the redeployment of FCTA directors, rescheduling of 2025 promotion exams, and removal of promotion prerequisites.",
