"summary": "Minnesota's head coach Niko Medved expressed optimism about the Gophers' backcourt prospects for the 2026-27 season, highlighting the return of Jaylen Crocker-Johnson and Isaac Asuma, as well as the potential impact of North Carolina transfer guard Kyan Evans. Medved described Evans as \"his third year playing for us,\" drawing parallels to Evans' experience on a championship team at Colorado State. With Evans averaging 10.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game last season, along with an impressive free-throw percentage, the Gophers could have their best backcourt in years, potentially matching their last NCAA Tournament appearance since 2018-19.",
