"account": "On October 9, the Tokyo District Court handed down a nine-year prison sentence to 32-year-old Shion Miyanishi for attempting to murder Takashi Tachibana, leader of a political group that criticized the public broadcaster NHK. Judge Kazunobu Eguchi deemed Miyanishi's actions highly dangerous and extremely heinous. Public prosecutors had demanded a 12-year sentence. The judge noted that Miyanishi believed Tachibana's harsh criticisms contributed to the suicide of a former Hyogo prefectural assembly member involved in investigating allegations against the Hyogo governor. Despite having the chance to abandon his plans after two failed attempts, Miyanishi persisted and further solidified his intentions. While the judge acknowledged Miyanishi's social isolation and autism spectrum disorder shaped his beliefs, they did not influence his decision to commit the crime.",
