"account": "South Africa has suspended an asylum directive following violent protests in Johannesburg and Durban. The Home Affairs Department issued the directive in response to a court ruling. The court decided that asylum seekers cannot be denied access to the asylum system based solely on procedural grounds like illegal entry. This decision sparked days of protests in Durban, which then escalated to Johannesburg's Soweto township. During the unrest, rioters burned 14 cars in Durban and 10 in Soweto, and looted shops. In Soweto, clashes between residents and foreign shop owners occurred, with gunshots heard. Although no injuries have been reported, the government emphasized that the court ruling does not guarantee refugee status or permanent residence to those who enter South Africa illegally.",
