"account": "Three people have been arrested in Hout Bay, Cape Town, on Thursday, October 8, after being discovered in possession of drugs worth R10 million, according to the Western Cape spokesperson for the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks), Warrant Officer Zinzi Hani. The suspects, aged between 41 and 60, were apprehended as part of an intelligence-driven operation by the Hawks' South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (SANEB). The suspects were found hiding 172,000 mandrax tablets in a false compartment inside two vehicles during a traffic stop, according to Hani. The arrested individuals are currently in custody and are expected to be brought before Wynberg Magistrate's Court on Monday, October 12, 2026, to face drug trafficking charges. Separately, Operation Prosper conducted an operation in Algoa Court, Hanover Park, where a suspect was arrested and found in possession of a .38 Special revolver containing 16 rounds of ammunition. The suspect faces charges for possessing an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and will appear in the Athlone Magistrate's Court following a charging decision.",
