"summary": "The Delhi High Court has postponed a hearing on a petition filed by the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) challenging the Delhi Police's decision to deny permission for a protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar at Jantar Mantar. The court has scheduled the matter for Monday, October 12, 2026, in a Bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Nitin Sambre. The IYC, led by national president Uday Bhanu Chib, had filed the petition on September 25, seeking permission to hold a peaceful demonstration involving 100-150 people between October 1 and October 25. The organization is demanding the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner over alleged irregularities in the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The petition raises concerns about the extent to which the police can regulate the exercise of fundamental rights while considering applications for peaceful demonstrations at Jantar Mantar.",
