"account": "Canadian poet Anne Carson has been awarded the 2026 Nobel Prize in Literature for her innovative and genre-defying works that blend verse, prose, dialogue and translation in a unique way. The Swedish Academy praised Carson's bold and inventive oeuvre, which creates new forms for contemporary literature by playing with classical tradition. Carson, born in Toronto and currently living in Iceland, received the award for her influential translations of classical Greek literature and her own creations such as opera libretti, literary criticism, verse novels, and performance pieces. She has been recognized for her ability to re-examine classical themes and ideas through a modern lens, as demonstrated in works like Autobiography of Red and The Albertine Workout. The Nobel Committee emphasized Carson's work in creating new forms for contemporary literature that draw from the classical tradition while challenging traditional boundaries.",
