"account": "On Thursday, a man was shot during an encounter with federal agents in the Marble Hill neighborhood of the Bronx, New York City, according to the New York Police Department (NYPD). The NYPD clarified that it was not involved in the incident and was not present when the shooting occurred. Reports suggest that the incident was linked to an operation carried out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the agency tasked with enforcing Donald Trump's immigration policies. New York Governor Kathy Hochul called for transparency from federal authorities regarding the incident, urging them to provide a comprehensive account of the events.\n\nMurad Awawdeh, the president of the New York Immigration Coalition, condemned the shooting, stating that it highlights the violent actions of ICE across communities. He demanded an immediate investigation into the shooting, the release of body camera footage, and accountability for any ICE agents who may have used excessive force. ICE has been involved in several high-profile shootings this year, most notably the killing of two US citizens in Minneapolis, which led to angry protests. New York, a key Democratic stronghold, is one of several US cities where local police are prohibited from assisting federal immigration enforcement.",
