"account": "The Sonora Rally is adapting its format for the 2027 edition, introducing a three-day rally raid with expanded rally schools. This change aims to make the experience more accessible for new riders and racers while preserving the event's core elements such as navigation, endurance, and independence. The 2027 Sonora Rally will take place from February 11-14 in the San Luis Río Colorado region of Sonora, Mexico, from a single bivouac location. This consolidation reduces logistics, expense, and moving logistics traditionally associated with the rally while maintaining its essence. The new format makes it easier for competitors to travel from the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with options for Fly-N-Race Moto and UTV rental and support programs. Prior to the rally, the Sonora Rally Schools will return for an expanded format, offering both foundational and advanced training options. The Navigation School in December will introduce newcomers to roadbook racing, while the Advanced Route in February will focus on seat time, navigation, and desert training for experienced competitors. For those looking to prepare specifically for Dakar, the one-day Dunes Clinic led by Skyler Howes and Darren Skilton will provide hands-on big-dune training. Both the schools and the rally offer competitors a pathway to reach the sport's biggest stage, with UTV and motorcycle winners earning Dakar eligibility points for 2028.",
