"account": "As the NBA preseason kicks off, the Oklahoma City Thunder face a looming decision on whether to extend contract with rising star Cason Wallace. The team has until October 19 at 5 p.m. CT to reach an agreement before Wallace becomes a restricted free agent and the decision becomes more difficult. Head coach Sam Presti has signaled that Wallace will replace Lu Dort as the starting point guard, with the Thunder having to navigate a delicate balance between rewarding Wallace for his contributions and managing their expanding payroll. ESPN's Marc Stein suggests that the drawn-out negotiations may be merely an act, with four other first-round picks from the 2023 draft already having signed extensions. If the Thunder are to secure a title contender, they must act quickly to secure Wallace's long-term future and avoid potential distractions as the team's aspirations grow.",
