"account": "US President Donald Trump clarified on Thursday that his previous remarks regarding Iran's potential to attack California cities like Los Angeles and San Diego had been misunderstood. He stated at a political rally in Nebraska on Monday that he was referring to the need for Americans to endure higher gas prices. Trump said, \"Remember, with the war, it's just artificial, it's a little bit high, it's a small price to pay, it's a small price to pay for keeping the world safe, for keeping our country safe. They could take out a city. Let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego.\" His comments drew swift rebukes from California's Democratic leaders and some Republican allies. Trump later clarified via a Truth Social post that he meant a temporary rise in gasoline prices would be a small price to pay to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. He added that he loved both Los Angeles and San Diego, emphasizing that the prospect of those cities being attacked by Iran was a \"big price.\"",
