"account": "Abdul El-Sayed, a Muslim candidate for the US Senate, expressed frustration on Thursday after Donald Trump mistakenly referred to him as \"Mohammed\" on social media. The Michigan Democrat, who is backed by progressive leaders such as Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Elizabeth Warren, accused Trump of struggling and incorrectly pronouncing his name in an attempt to discredit him. El-Sayed, whose middle name is Mohamed but who does not use it publicly, told an audience in Grand Rapids, Michigan, that Trump's inability to correctly pronounce his name was a result of \"ripping\" him. Trump and his supporters have repeatedly accused El-Sayed and his family of having ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda, despite these claims being baseless. The Michigan Senate race, where El-Sayed is competing against Republican Mike Rogers, is seen as crucial for the Democrats' efforts to regain control of the Senate in the upcoming midterm elections.",
