"account": "Bordeaux, once a six-time French football champion, have been relegated to the Nouvelle-Aquitaine league's sixth tier following financial irregularities. The club was sanctioned by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine league after failing to provide approximately €10 million (US$11.6 million) for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 financial years, as well as meeting debt payments. The oversight commission approved Bordeaux's recovery budget, leading to their approval for participation in Regional 1. The club's new president, Dominique Delport, expressed optimism about their future. Park Bench, the US-based investment group that bought the club for a symbolic one euro, will present their continuation plan in court on October 20, with the debt reduced from €26 million to €13 million. Despite having produced notable French football players such as Bixente Lizarazu, Christophe Dugarry, Alain Giresse, and Jean Tigana, Bordeaux were relegated to Ligue 2 in 2022 and placed in judicial restructuring in 2024, which ultimately led to their professional status being revoked.",
