"account": "The United Kingdom announced on its website that it will provide GBP 54 million in winter support to Ukraine, according to Ukrinform. This assistance aims to help Ukrainians cope with the harsh winter, as Russia continues to disrupt the country's energy supply. Prime Minister Miliband emphasized that the UK stands by Ukraine not only for its role in European and NATO security but also due to the global fight for justice and the rule of law. He warned Russia, saying, \"You cannot wait us out. Until you choose the path of peace, the UK will not relent in its support for Ukraine, our values, or our national security. You will remain a pariah.\"\n\nOut of the GBP 54 million, GBP 20 million ($26.4 million) will be dedicated to energy security in Ukraine. This includes funding for emergency repairs to the energy grid following attacks, investments in backup generators and solar power sources for blackouts, and research into new technologies to diversify power supplies. Additionally, GBP 34 million ($44.9 million) will go towards maintaining heating and water systems for Ukrainian families ahead of winter, with direct cash support provided through collaboration with the Ukrainian government and aid partners, such as UNICEF, UNHCR, and the Ukrainian Red Cross.",
"summary": "UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, during his first visit to Kyiv in his current role, reaffirmed Britain's unwavering support for Ukraine and announced GBP 54 million ($71.3 million) in funding to strengthen the country's resilience ahead of winter.",
