"summary": "Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has urged transport unions in the state to stop increasing fares arbitrarily, as it makes life uncomfortable for residents. According to the Daily Post Nigeria, this warning was given during a rally at the Ake Palace Pavilion in Abeokuta, where nine transport unions endorsed the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Solomon Adeola.\n\nThe transport unions, which include RTEAN, NURTW, and others, had gathered to show support for Senator Adeola ahead of the 2027 governorship election. Governor Abiodun stated that his administration had made significant investments in the transport sector, including constructing or reconstructing over 1,700 kilometres of roads and building an airport.\n\nThe governor's administration has also implemented a multimodal transport master plan to create an enabling environment for the transport sector to thrive. The Punch reports that Governor Abiodun is concerned that arbitrary fare increases by transport unions are making life uncomfortable for residents.",
