"account": "\"Cyberpunk 2077,\" the blockbuster sci-fi video game crafted by developer CD Projekt Red, is set to transition into a major motion picture produced by Paramount and led by \"Transformers\" producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, according to industry insider TheWrap. The team behind the acclaimed open-world RPG will include CD Projekt Red, the rights holder for the franchise.\n\nCyberpunk 2077 thrusts players into Night City, a sprawling dystopian metropolis where corporations hold vast dominion and cutting-edge technology permeates daily existence. The player assumes the role of V, a mercenary juggling assignments from diverse gangs, corporations, and influential figures on a quest to forge their own identity. The city is starkly divided by class and economic disparity, with cybernetic enhancements, AI, and virtual reality shaping the landscape.\n\nSince its release in December 2020, the original game has sold over 40 million units globally, and its Phantom Liberty expansion has witnessed another 15 million sales. Video game adaptations have proven a lucrative avenue for the film industry, challenging the genre's prior stereotype of being a low-quality realm. Recent successful adaptations include HBO's \"The Last of Us\" and Prime Video's \"Fallout,\" as well as the box office sensation \"The Super Mario Bros. Movie\" and the theatrical hit \"Five Nights at Freddy's.\" However, the involvement of Keanu Reeves, who appeared as a non-playable character in the game, in the film adaptation remains uncertain.",
