"account": "A 33-year-old man, G. Saravanan, was arrested by the Vaniyambadi Taluk police in Tirupattur for illegally mining sand from the dry Palar river bed on Thursday. The police identified Saravanan as a resident of Vaniyambadi. According to the police, special teams have been set up in the district to curb illegal sand mining, smuggling of ganja and other prohibited items. A police team was conducting a routine patrol on the Chennai-Bengaluru Highway (NH-48) in the area when they spotted a bullock cart loaded with river sand. The cart's driver claimed the sand was extracted from the dry riverbed for sale to retail traders. The police apprehended Saravanan and seized the bullock cart filled with sand. A case was filed, and a further investigation is underway.",
