"account": "Barcelona-linked Dutch youth prodigy Kees Smit, currently playing for AZ Alkmaar, is reportedly nearing a contract extension with his current club. The 20-year-old forward has long been a subject of transfer speculation, with both FC Barcelona and Real Madrid rumored as potential suitors. However, recently, AZ and Smit have reportedly reached an agreement to keep the talented midfielder under contract until mid-2030.\n\nSmit has been with AZ since he was just nine years old, and his dazzling skills have earned him a place among the most highly regarded young players in the Netherlands. He made his debut for the Netherlands national team under the guidance of former Barcelona head coach Ronald Koeman, who even compared him to the club's own Pedri. Smit's love for FC Barcelona is well-known and was evident when he joked about being willing to negotiate with the Catalan club after AZ's squad visited Barcelona to celebrate their Dutch Cup win.\n\nDespite his admiration for Barcelona, Smit has never expressed a desire to leave the Netherlands just yet. In fact, he has made it clear that he prefers to play in La Liga over other domestic leagues, including the English Premier League. For now, it looks like Kees Smit will continue to hone his skills at AZ, with a potential new contract keeping him at Alkmaar until 2030.",
