The operation, codenamed \"Operation Blackout,\" was carried out in Ghana this week as part of the bureau's efforts to dismantle international scam centers. Patel disclosed the development on his official X account on Thursday, stating that the investigation is ongoing and that the operation has led to the seizure of over 300 electronic devices. The FBI has so far recovered nearly $10 million in losses and identified 89 victims in connection with the operation. Patel also mentioned that some of those detained were victims of trafficking and would be repatriated to their respective countries. The FBI director emphasized that the operation is part of a broader campaign to prevent estimated losses of about $670 million to American citizens, with more than 10,000 Americans being alerted before they lost money to the scams.",
