"summary": "A Polish man has been sentenced to five and a half years in prison for spying on behalf of Russia, according to the court of appeal in Lublin. The 51-year-old former Polish soldier, known as Paweł K., was detained by Poland’s Internal Security Agency in April 2024 and found to have cooperated with Russian intelligence between December 2022 and March 2024. His tasks included reconnaissance of Rzeszów-Jasionka airport, which could have been used in planning an assassination attempt on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The sentence was increased by two years from an earlier ruling. Paweł K. denied the accusations against him, claiming he was trying to help capture Russian war criminals.",
