"account": "The U.S. government has suspended Microsoft, Adobe, and several major IT firms from a green card program aimed at skilled foreign workers obtaining permanent residency, according to senior U.S. officials who announced the decision on Thursday. The move comes after allegations of fraud and as part of a broader initiative to encourage companies to hire more American workers. U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance stated that while Microsoft is a \"great American company,\" it must prioritize hiring American workers. Secretary of Labor Keith Sonderling added that other large IT firms, including Cognizant, Infosys, Tata, Wipro, HCL, and Capgemini, would also be barred from participating in the program. The Department of Labor will no longer process new or pending permanent labor certification applications for these companies, Sonderling explained. Microsoft has not yet commented on the suspension. The PERM process requires employers to demonstrate that there are no qualified, willing, or available U.S. workers for a specific job before filing petitions for employment-based green cards.",
