"account": "Administrative services at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) are experiencing a decrease in capacity due to a strike by the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA). Some offices, including payroll and auditing, have been impacted, while key student-facing units like Finance, Registry, and Examinations are still operational but with limited capacity. The KNUST GAUA chapter defended the strike, stating that the association's members have the right to strike to pursue their demands. The chapter's General Secretary, Kwadwo Asenso Fanwel, emphasized that the association remains committed to maintaining its professional and ethical responsibilities even as part of the industrial action. He clarified that the disruption is passive, with the absence of administrators from their posts causing the effect. The strike aims to demonstrate the importance of university administrators and their role in keeping the institution's systems and services running.",
