"account": "Gaming giant Xbox is expanding its horizons with the launch of a new film and television division, dubbed XP, according to a company announcement on Thursday. Kayleen Walters, the chief of Mojang Studios, has been appointed as president of this venture. Following this promotion, Maria Angelidou-Smith is set to assume the role of CEO for Minecraft and Swedish game developer Mojang on October 19.\n\nThe company has outlined four key areas for XP: Xbox Pictures, which will handle film and television adaptations; Xbox Products, focusing on licensing and merchandise; Xbox Partnerships, aimed at sponsors and brand partners; and Xbox Places, encompassing marquee broadcast and in-person events, theme parks, and other location-based experiences.\n\nXbox CEO Asha Sharma revealed these plans in a staff memo on Thursday. She emphasized that franchises can hold greater significance for people than the time they spend playing them, and that Walters is well-equipped to build such experiences within the industry while preserving the essence that originally captivated audiences.\n\nMore details about this ambitious initiative are expected to follow.",
