"account": "The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences bestowed the 2026 Nobel Prize in Literature upon Canadian author and poet, Anne Carson. The announcement was made by the Academy’s Secretary-General, Ingrid Carlberg, on Thursday. She revealed that Carson was recognized for her \"bold and inventive oeuvre that in playful dialogue with the classical tradition, has created new forms for contemporary literature.\" Carlberg phoned the Nobel laureate, who was then on Iceland where she was \"listening to the wind\". According to Carlberg, Carson \"was very taken by surprise\" upon receiving the news. The 76-year-old author, who studied at the University of Toronto, has taught comparative literature and creative writing at various institutions in Canada and the United States. Carson, who has penned over 20 books, is a poet, essayist, and classicist whose works infuse modernity into themes of love, desire, and despair. László Krasznahorkai from Hungary was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2025. Olugbenga Ige, a journalist with over nine years of experience, reported the news with precision and clarity.",
