"account": "David De Gea’s future at Fiorentina hangs in the balance despite his recent return to peak performance on the pitch. A former Manchester United goalkeeper, De Gea has been instrumental in Fiorentina’s recent success, including decisive performances against Pisa and Napoli, earning him a spot as the starter for the upcoming match against Genoa. The 36-year-old, whose contract runs until June 2028, boasts a strong rapport with the club. However, his continued presence remains uncertain due to Fiorentina’s financial considerations and the emergence of a potential successor, Tommaso Martinelli. The Viola previously contemplated parting ways with De Gea last summer, primarily due to his substantial €3m net annual salary and the looming emergence of Martinelli as a capable replacement. Sporting director Fabio Paratici now faces a monumental decision: whether to prolong De Gea’s tenure or initiate a new era for Fiorentina, which could alleviate the club’s financial burdens. De Gea initially joined Fiorentina in 2024, filling a void after a year-long stint away from club football following his departure from Manchester United.",
