"account": "The Lagos State Government plans to assess private investment opportunities and private-sector participation in the state's electricity market in November 2026, according to a statement from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The review will take place at the second Lagos Energy Summit, which will focus on the implementation of the 2024 Lagos State Electricity Law and its implications for private-sector involvement across the electricity value chain. Several private power projects are currently moving through various stages, while others are under regulatory review. The summit will also explore the evolving regulatory framework and its potential to support a reliable and sustainable electricity market in Lagos. Renewable energy, electricity infrastructure, and decentralized generation are expected to be key discussion points. Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Biodun Ogunleye, emphasized that the summit will review progress since the enactment of the new electricity law and create opportunities for strategic partnerships and investments.",
