"account": "Three transmission towers collapsed during a storm in Nasarawa State, disrupting electricity supply to parts of Keffi and Akwanga. The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) reported that the incident occurred on Wednesday, 7th October 2026, during rainy and windy conditions. The collapse affected the Karu-Keffi-Akwanga 132kV transmission line, causing the 132kV line to trip on overcurrent relay protection. TCN isolated the affected towers T78, T79, and T80 for safety, rendering all 33kV outgoing feeders at the 132/33kV Keffi and 132/33kV Akwanga transmission substations unavailable. Investigations revealed that the towers had indeed collapsed, and TCN promptly took action to address the situation. The company stated that engineers were dispatched to assess the damage and determine the necessary materials and resources for restoration work. However, no timeline was provided for the restoration of the affected feeders, as it would depend on the outcome of the technical assessment and repair requirements. TCN apologized to affected customers and assured them that they were working diligently to restore normal supply as quickly as possible.",
