"account": "Chinese state documentary reveals Wang Xing was sold three times in four days following his trafficking into Myanmar last year. The film, titled \"The Demise of Telecom Fraud in Northern Myanmar,\" detailed Beijing's attempts to dismantle scam operations along Myanmar's borders. Beijing has been leading an international campaign to crack down on scam hubs in Myanmar and other Southeast Asian countries, prosecuting and executing members of syndicates accused of luring Chinese citizens overseas and selling them to scam compounds. Wang was lured to Thailand with a fake acting job and then abducted and smuggled into Myanmar, where he was sold to different criminals multiple times. Chinese and Thai authorities arrested 17 suspects in the case, and Yan, one of the criminals involved, was among those apprehended. The documentary also revealed attempts by Chinese authorities to persuade powerful families in northern Myanmar to cease their scam activities, though these efforts were unsuccessful.",
