"summary": "Bauchi State lawmaker Yusuf Abdullahi Itas has announced his withdrawal from the 2027 general election, marking another lawmaker from the region to forgo the race. Itas, representing Itas/Gadau State Constituency and seeking re-election on the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) platform, informed the party's state chairman in a letter dated October 5, 2026, that he would no longer contest the seat in the 2027 election. He cited his decision as \"entirely voluntary and personal\" and expressed gratitude to the APM leadership and the constituency for their support during his tenure. This comes shortly after Bauchi Assembly Chief Whip Musa Wakili Nakwada also announced his decision not to contest the 2027 elections.",
