"account": "Hong Kong will host the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) World and Asia-Pacific Region Congress from October 28th to 30th. The three-day event, themed \"Liminal Landscapes: Shifting Boundaries of Watersheds & Coastlines,\" will gather landscape architects, planners, and policymakers from over 80 countries. This marks the first time Hong Kong has hosted such a prestigious congress, emphasizing the city's unique position as a coastal urban center at the intersection of land and sea. The Congress will explore how cities can plan and design for ever-changing coastlines and river systems, particularly in the face of climate change. Keynote speakers include Kate Orff, a MacArthur Fellow and professor at Columbia University, who will discuss innovative approaches to coastal resilience; Stig L. Andersson, a leading Danish landscape architect; and Jungyoon Kim, an associate professor at Harvard's Graduate School of Design. The event aims to provide practical tools, partnerships, and a global perspective on climate adaptive design, with sessions covering watershed management, coastal resilience, nature-based solutions, and the Sustainable Development Goals.",
