"account": "New Zealand Rugby (NZR) has initiated court proceedings in New South Wales to stop the Papua New Guinea-based National Rugby League (NRL) from using the \"Chiefs\" name in New Zealand. NZR claims the move is necessary to safeguard the reputation of the Waikato-based Chiefs, a Super Rugby team that has been competing in Australasia since 1996. The NRL, an Australian-based league with one team in Auckland, announced plans to expand the league to Papua New Guinea in 2024. The same year, PNG's Prime Minister James Marape announced that the new franchise would be named \"Chiefs.\" Despite efforts to reach out to the Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC) regarding the matter, NZR has found no success and is seeking an injunction to prevent the use of the name until the PNG team's official launch later this month.",
