"summary": "Malaysia's first Littoral Combat Ship (LCS 1), being built by Lumut Naval Shipyard (Lunas), has had its delivery date pushed to April 2027, according to Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin. This delay comes after Lunas was unable to commit to delivering the vessel by December 2026, affecting the readiness of the Malaysian Armed Forces and national defence. As a result, Mindef has issued a notice of Liquidated Ascertained Damages (LAD) to Lunas, demonstrating the government's seriousness over the delay. The project is currently 86.39% complete, but still 13.61 percentage points behind schedule.",
