"account": "Google Maps will now display fuel prices in the UK to assist motorists in locating more affordable petrol and diesel, as costs continue to rise. According to the government's Fuel Finder scheme, search results for forecourts on the app will include locations and pricing. Forecourts are legally required to update their prices on Fuel Finder within 30 minutes of any changes. Diesel prices recently surpassed £2 per litre for the first time, a threshold RAC policy head Simon Williams deemed undesirable. Although diesel prices have since dropped by 2p, a 55-litre tank of diesel still costs around £110, while petrol averages £96. Google Maps, which 77% of Britain's adult population uses for general navigation, will now feature fuel prices alongside location data. The feature is already available in Waze, used by approximately 2 million UK users. While some experts question the reliability of Fuel Finder, Google Maps spokesperson Sarah-Jayne Williams assured that the company would independently verify data and only display prices with high confidence. The Retail Motor Industry Federation confirmed that its members are complying with the new requirement.",
