"account": "Southampton manager Tonda Eckert has been given a suspended ban and fined £28,000 after being found guilty of involvement in the so-called \"Spygate\" scandal. The Football Association decided against a lengthy ban, allowing Eckert to continue his role at the Championship club. Eckert, who was fined £37,000, admitted to three breaches of English Football League regulations following the revelation that Southampton had snooped on semi-final opponents Middlesbrough and two other teams. An independent disciplinary commission ruled that Eckert had specifically authorized the spying, casting doubt on his future at the English second-tier club. The German coach attended an FA hearing and accepted full responsibility, resulting in a six-week suspension from all football activities, which is suspended until the end of the 2027/28 season. The FA stated that the suspended sanction would come into effect if Eckert is found to have committed any further breaches of rules or regulations. Southampton, currently 13th in the Championship, expressed regret over the incident and announced measures to prevent such errors in judgment from happening again. The club's owner, Dragan Solak, welcomed the decision of the independent panel, noting that the club had suffered enough and appreciating the panel's recognition of that. Eckert, who took up his permanent role as Southampton boss in December 2025, led the team to fourth place in the Championship table after a disappointing start to the season.",
