"summary": "Federal prosecutors are reportedly preparing to bring new charges against former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, for allegedly torturing Americans who were held in Venezuelan prisons during Maduro's tenure. The sources said that additional individuals could also be charged in connection with the torture of over a dozen Americans who were wrongfully detained by the Venezuelan government while Maduro was in power. The new charges could potentially be announced as early as Thursday, with Flores set to appear in a federal court in New York for a bond hearing on the same day. A trial date has been tentatively scheduled for June 2027.",
