"account": "A 30-year-old man from Washington state has been charged in connection with a mass shooting at a school in Tumbler Ridge, Canada. According to court documents, the alleged shooter, Jesse Van Rootselaar, had been in contact with James Cody Bryant for three years prior to the incident, but their communication intensified in the six months leading up to the shooting.\n\nBryant is accused of providing the shooter with financial support, advice, and even promising to live stream the horrific event. Neal Floyd, the acting U.S. attorney for the Western District of Washington, revealed that Bryant had the means to alert law enforcement but chose not to, instead encouraging and assisting the shooter.\n\nAmarnath Amarasingam, an associate professor at Queen's University specializing in extremism and radicalization, commented on the shocking nature of the conversations between Bryant and Van Rootselaar. He stated that while they maintained a friendship, their discussions about their shared trauma around trans identities became increasingly focused on planning and plotting the murder of dozens or even thousands of people.\n\nAmarasingam emphasized that the normalization of such conversations is concerning, as it represents a clear escalation in the attacker's radicalization process. He also pointed out that mass shooters often seek attention for their actions to gain notoriety, which can be achieved through social media platforms. The audience does not necessarily need to be large, as even the approval of one person can hold significant emotional weight.",
