"account": "Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition Parks Tau has urged direct marketers to register their businesses on the National Opt-Out system. Tau explained that if a business is not registered, it is prohibited from sending consumers direct marketing messages via unsolicited electronic communication. The deadline for telemarketer registration is December of the current year, providing businesses with ample time to adjust. Post this period, companies will receive five months to purge their systems before the law becomes fully effective in April 2027.\n\nTau emphasized that all direct marketers must register on the registry and renew their registration annually. An unregistered marketer is not permitted to contact any consumer for direct marketing purposes. Each registered marketer is required to cleanse its lists against the registry on a monthly basis prior to conducting any campaign. Furthermore, every communication must be traceable with the marketer's name, address, and contact number, with no hidden numbers or untraceable sources.",
