"account": "A woman in her 50s has died after a fire engulfed a homeless encampment in Montreal-Nord early Wednesday morning. Montreal police say the flames were first reported just before 5 a.m. following an alert from a resident of the encampment to the local police station. Upon arrival, officers found an unconscious woman who was transported to a hospital in a critical state. Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries at the hospital later that day. Firefighters responded to the scene, but authorities report that the blaze was extinguished prior to their arrival. The cause of the fire and the woman's death remain unknown at this time. Montreal Mayor Soraya Martinez Ferrada has acknowledged the incident as a stark reminder of the urgent need to address homelessness.
