"account": "Ring is set to launch a new smart lock in the United States in Q1 2027 at a price of $249, available in black, silver, and brass finishes. Ring founder Jamie Siminoff sees the launch as staying true to the company's mission of making homes more secure, manageable, and providing peace of mind. The smart lock aims to solve \"range anxiety\" by offering a manual solution when the battery dies, a hand crank called the Power Dial that generates enough power for 10 to 30 seconds through a supercapacitor. Siminoff believes this feature sets the lock apart from competitors, as previous solutions like metal keys were considered medieval. The lock will integrate with the Ring app, Alexa, and Amazon Sidewalk for connectivity, though it lacks support for Apple Home or Matter. The launch comes just days before a rumored Apple entry into the smart home market and amid a crowded smart lock market.",
