"account": "Lubna Speitan, a member of the UK Green Party, is under scrutiny after proposing a motion labeling Zionism as racist at their recent conference. The motion, which calls for a single Palestinian state, has now been linked to an al-Qaeda terrorist, Minh Quang Pham, who was jailed in the US for attempting a suicide bombing at Heathrow Airport. Speitan, a British-Palestinian activist, is described as Pham's \"close friend\" in court documents related to Pham's defense case. Pham, a British citizen who trained with al-Qaeda in Yemen, was arrested in 2012 and extradited to the US in 2015. He pleaded guilty to terrorism offenses and was initially sentenced to 40 years in prison, later increased to 44 years. Speitan maintains their friendship, claiming Pham has been \"targeted by the system.\" However, Pham's sentencing was recently increased to 44 years after prosecutors presented additional evidence. Speitan's stance on terrorism and the armed struggle remains controversial, with her previously supporting Hamas and stating that Zionists would be \"hunted in the same way as the Nazi oppressors were.\"",
