"account": "In a dangerous turn in Edo State's 2027 political race, former governorship candidate Kenneth Imasuangbon and party leader Herberta Okonofua narrowly escaped a gunshot attack on Tuesday, according to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Suspected APC loyalists are accused of leading the attack, allegedly orchestrated by Igueben Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Endurance Azemegbe. ADC member Jerry Oliha is reported to have sustained gunshot injuries during the incident, which occurred during political activities in Igueben Local Government Area. This marks the third attack on the entourage in the area, following previous shootings in Wards 4 and 5. The ADC has accused Azemegbe of leading a team of armed assailants in the latest attack, which has raised concerns over escalating political tensions in Edo. Meanwhile, Azemegbe denies any involvement, stating he was unaware of the incident until contacted by journalists. The Edo State Police is currently investigating the matter.",
