"account": "The Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has invested nearly GH¢6 million to replace damaged sections of its transmission lines between Kpong and Tema, aiming to boost water supply in the Greater Accra Region. Communications Manager Stanley Martey revealed that between 40 and 50 percent of water pumped from Kpong was previously lost before reaching the Tema booster station. The company identified the issue as weak or perforated sections of the transmission lines. After investing heavily in repairs, GWL is now monitoring the network daily to identify remaining faults and maintain pressure. They are also employing Doppler measurements to track water volumes and locate problem areas along the transmission network. Despite these efforts, GWL acknowledges a persistent gap between water demand and supply, urging consumers to understand the need for equitable distribution of the available water. The company expects to provide water to communities at least twice a week, subject to supply availability.",
