"summary": "President Donald Trump caused outrage after suggesting that Iran should \"take out\" Los Angeles and San Diego during a campaign rally in Nebraska. The comment has sparked fury among Democrats and some Republican officials, with California Governor Gavin Newsom calling it dangerous and putting a target on two of America's biggest cities. Both the Mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, and Mayor of San Diego, Todd Gloria, have strongly denounced the remarks, urging their respective cities not to be seen as expendable in a potential conflict. White House Director of Communications, Steven Cheung, defended Trump, arguing that the media's reaction is unfounded and that the statement was based on the idea that Iran would not have been stopped from developing a nuclear weapon otherwise.",
