"account": "Mike Flanagan, the creator of The Dark Tower Prime Video series, recently shared the delays in adapting Stephen King's fantasy series during an interview with ScreenRant. Flanagan explained that one of the main issues with producing The Dark Tower for Amazon is the intricate rights situation. The adaptation requires moving rights for over a year due to the involvement of multiple studios and numerous characters spread across various locations. King's novels often have references to other works, many of which have been adapted by different studios or networks. Flanagan also noted that the fifth book heavily features a character from Salem's Lot, which was recently adapted for HBO Max. The legal logistics surrounding The Dark Tower are overwhelming, he said, but the project has not been forgotten. Amazon initially greenlit the adaptation, but it was the Stephen King novel Carrie that caught the company's attention. With Carrie's production completed now, Flanagan assured fans that he is still moving forward with The Dark Tower, despite the project's large scale and numerous books to adapt. He emphasized that it's his dream adaptation, despite the immense challenge it poses.",
