"account": "Rajya Sabha member Kartikeya Sharma has requested Prime Minister Modi to consider bestowing India's top civilian honor, the Ashok Chakra, upon flydubai pilot Captain Smit Machchar. The award is being sought for Machchar's heroic actions during a hijacking attempt on flydubai flight FZ1073 on September 30. While the Omani co-pilot, Hamam al-Hammami, attacked Machchar with an axe, the pilot remained focused on protecting the 174 passengers on board. Despite sustaining severe injuries, Machchar continued to perform his duties, unlatching the cockpit door to allow passengers and off-duty crew members to restrain the co-pilot. The aircraft descended approximately 16,000 feet in just two minutes before a hijacking distress signal was transmitted, prompting an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. All 180 passengers were safely evacuated. Sharma highlighted Machchar's courage and composure under extreme circumstances, emphasizing that his actions exemplified the indomitable spirit and dedication to duty that are characteristic of Indians. The Rajya Sabha member believes that recognizing Machchar at the national level would not only honor his bravery but also inspire young people across the country.",
