"account": "An execution date has been set for former Army Major Nidal Hasan, who carried out a shooting at Fort Hood in 2009 that claimed 13 lives and injured 32 others. The execution will take place on December 3, 2026, at Fort Hood itself. Hasan will be executed by firing squad, marking the first military execution since 1961. Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell confirmed that the firing squad method was recommended by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and approved by President Trump. This marks the end of a 17-year ordeal for Hasan, who was paralyzed from the chest down when police responded to the attack. The victims were 13 unarmed soldiers preparing for deployment at the readiness center, along with 32 others who were wounded.",
